MMH Mission Statement
THE MISSION OF MUNISING MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IS TO
PROVIDE A LINK TO WELLNESS AND HEALTHCARE, AND TO SERVE AS AN INTEGRAL
PART OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE ENTIRE REGION.
Welcome Note from CEO
I, Carl Velte, CEO of Munising Memorial Hospital
would like to welcome you to our website. I invite you
to learn about Bay Care Medical Center, Harbour view Assisted
Living and the numerous services available here at MMH. With
caring, compassionate Physicians and staff, we offer 24 hour
ER, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, an excellent rehab
department and specialty doctors for your convenience, just
to name a few. We are proud to serve Munising and all
of Alger County and we strive to deliver quality healthcare
everyday.
The future is bright for MMH. Many changes have taken place
in the last 20 years. We continue to evolve with technology yet
keep our "small town" personality. Built in 1960,
the hospital's main focus was on inpatient services. Through
the years the trend has steadily changed to the bigger need being
outpatient services. Inpatient stays used to last longer and patients
were admitted for illnesses that no longer require a hospital
stay at all. These factors, coupled with the fact that the
current building has limited space for potential growth and does
need some updates, has prompted the Board of Trustees to approve
the construction of a new facility. It is a very exciting
time for myself, the Board, the employees and the community and
we all look forward to the completion of this project.
Please take the time to tour this site and get to know Munising
Memorial and all we have to offer.

Trustees
